Whats your favourite rigs for fooling gin clear water barbel ?
Whats your favourite rigs for barbel in a rageing up and running flooded river ?

Be interesting to see a few photos of end tackle different people use from summer to winter on both a clear and flooded river....

Ultima fluoro for gin clear rivers - straight through to no. 10 wide gape. Raging rivers I use Stealth skin hooklink and use up to 5oz grippas to hold bottom.

Very nice guys, i also use a combi rig in the height of summer as I beleive keeping the end tackle concealed is vital! I use korda IQ flurocarbon in 10/15lb and usuall 16-24inches long and then stripped back suffix sheath skin being knotless kontted to the hook and then a simple back to back grinner knot joining it to the flurocarbon...usually around a inch of the sheath skin and then mould a very big lump of putty around the back to back grinner as I strongly think and agree that this helps to pull the hook home!

On the other hand in floods deadly simple 4/5oz korda grippa lead freerunning with a couple of buffer beads and suffix sheath skin straight through but still add putty! Bait wise i usually stick with curry flavoured spam or a bit of paste round a 10/15mm bait...

Clear water:
Fulling mill fluorocarbon hooklink (from 7lb to 15lb dependent on situation) size 6 to 12 Solar wide gape extra strong hook. KD rigged hair, length dependent on whether I`m expecting chub and barbel (tight to the shank if chub are expected), inline Atomic dung bomb (1.5 to 5oz) on 24" of leadcore and free running flying backlead.

Flood water:
Any old baling twine, heavy ironmongery and a big ball of stink.
