Re: Field Tester Reports
Start of the season was good to me , cast my line in at 12am on the 16th with the first take at 12,30 which turned into a 6lb Trent bream, the next take was an hour later on the worm krill boilie which saw a 10lb+ barbel slip over the cord, last take at 5am saw a stunning 11lbs6oz barbel bouncing in the weigh sling, all fish fell to the worm krill fished over a bed of stimanol big fish mix and small worm krill pellets all mixed into a sticky method, pushed into one of Paul fisks magic feeders.....
Next session saw me on the river dove the following Wednesday, tough going but I managed two chub to the stimanol boilie and krill boilie.....
Last session on Tuesday just gone, saw me out on the dove again by mid afternoon , the sun was high n blazing, opting for a bait and wait I eventually cast in four hours later, within the hour a splasher 6lber put in an appearance , again to the same method mix and worm krill hookbaits.
Roll on the next session, good luck to all .

Re: Field Tester Reports
Hi Mark,
Not to good matey, i have had 2 trips down to the Loddon but it looks like the barbel haven't finished spawing on my stretch yet, maybe better tomorrow:lol: I am on the 3B boilies, it sounds like the worm and krill boilies are working?

Re: Field Tester Reports
certainly is mate, a friend of mine had half a kilo of them as hookbaits, went to a new pressured cheshire mere on his first visit and landed 7 carp between 15lbs up to 19-10 in the same 24hr session!!!!!!
Re: Field Tester Reports
Squeezed in an hour last night on the Dane below the weir, handballed a few stimanol/big fish mix golf balls in , set up cast out 40mins later snaffled a lovely 5lber on 10mm 3b chop n paste wrap, job done went home for my sunday dinner
Re: Field Tester Reports
Hello Mark,
Good to see a tester posting, was that a barbel or a chub?

Re: Field Tester Reports
Cheers mate, sorry that was a barbel it's about the average size for the Dane, a double is a big fish for this river.
Re: Field Tester Reports
hello to all, first trip out of season and caught a nice 8 1/2lb barbel and 6lb 12oz one on saturday plus lost one, all on the 3b boilie, friends all struggling on other boilies to get a bite so that bodes well for the coming season ! Fish still not completely completed spawning, the joy of a duff winter !

Re: Field Tester Reports
managed a combined afternoon and evening session yesterday, like the weather fishing def improving. Nearly melting basking at some points. Had 6 barbel after 5pm best 9lb 6oz. Fish still not really interested in boilies but smaller particle baits/ pellets instead. Although cunning edge of the 3b glug seemed to help get me some bites as a couple of friends struggled in the next pegs.

Nice result there Graham. It pays to ring the changes sometimes and glugging pellets is a good alternative, ask Lee!

Re: Field Tester Reports
Just about managed to top that last session yesterday, def one of my better take a day off at the last minute to go fishing decisions. Normally they don't pan out but this time managed 14 Barbel in an 8 hour session after swapping stretches of the river following a 2 hour period with no bites in my first choice location. A good lesson there, if not catching don't be afraid to move ! Sadly a lot smaller size fish than on Friday of between 4-6lb but they obviously didn't think size mattered & they do go off like little rockets bless them and really pull back. So great fun.
3B glug working well again on particles/pellets and 3B groundbait on this occassion through the feeder. Still no interest in boilies. Also managed a modest for some but new pb for me, chub of 5lb 1oz so top result all round.

Paul Bennett has reported in with a nice brace of from the Dove on his first outing with 3-B. Two bites resulted in two barbel at 10lb 4oz & 12lb 12oz. Nice fishing mate.

Re: Field Tester Reports
Well I have to say that despite the low river conditions and the sweltering heat, the team get-together on the Wye was a very successful event with 46 barbel caught to 10lb 3oz and a dozen chub. Worm Krill proved highly successful again, as did Natural Crave for Andrew & Jose who bagged 21 barbel between them.
