A friend of mine caught a 6.3 chub today from the Loddon. Nice to get the text whilst I was still at work, at least they are on the feed. Let's hope this weekend brings us a monster!

Nice fish that Sam. I hear there are some biggies in the loddon. I had a couple last night from the D Stour but had to wait till dusk before some action. The river was gin clear, I would have trotted the maggot, that would have worked, but it was blowing a hooly. Mad

Sure is a whopper for the Loddon. He caught it on luncheon meat though, the heathen. I have already berated him. The stretch immediately upstream did a brace for over 15lb back end of last season for Bernie. Magaligner all the way! If you want to come fish it let me know.

My own chubbing since has been with maggots only. I'm fishing them on size 20's to 2 foot of 4lb flouro. Every bite is a slight pluck and every fish landed has been hooked just inside the lips. All bites for me about an hour before dark in what appears to be a one bite only swim.

Maaan it was a hooly saturday night. I was in the teeth of it 'doing carp fishing' or something similarly foolhardy!

I would love a go at the lodden mate. I heard about that brace of fish. Awesome!! Perhaps next season we could have a bash at it. The same goes this end, if you fancy a go at the stour. Luncheon meet. Yuk!!!!!!!! No

Blimey Nairny, that`s definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black! I`ll put a few feelers out for the Loddon if you want, can`t promise anything but I have a couple of contacts. The Loddon did an 8lb6oz chub earlier this week so there`s scope for a lump or two there. Plenty of the Thames is free fishing below Runnymede (down stream of the M25 at Staines basically) big chub, barbel, carp and lots of BREEEAAAMMM!!!!!. We could have a session there but it would probably last a lifetime.

Blimey... a life time catching Breeeeeaaaaammmmm, snot my idea of fun ha ha. Sounds good though Mick, long time since I fished Runnymead. Lots of common carp there and a few barbel, probably changed a lot since then. Sam is the man for info relating to the Loddon which could be a cracking session early Summer Wink

Hello Darren,
When I said downstream of the M25 at Staines I didn`t mean just that stretch but all the way down to the sea. Who knows might even catch a crab or two? Razz

Talking of Brreeeeaaaamm, had a good few last week with 2 over 9lb the largest 9lb14oz, they average about 5/6lb. Still bloody snotty though. Heard of a catch of 3 bream for just over 33lb the other day from the Thames, some people actually wouldn`t mind em at that size.
