New Concept Barbel Bait Empty New Concept Barbel Bait

OK chaps I shall be formulating a brand new bait for the barbel in the closed season and I am looking for a few testers to give it a go and give me feedback (good & bad). I have been working on a new concept bait and flavour for the last few weeks and I shall be making a production run in the closed period so plenty of time to feed up a few swims.

If it`s as good as the 3B`s then should be a winner.

New Concept Barbel Bait Empty Re: New Concept Barbel Bait

Post  baitboss Fri Jul 08, 2011 2:15 pm

The new barbel bait has now been formulated and I am looking for field testers to trial it out. 'Naturally Black' is a little bit different to your run-of-the-mill boilie as it is made up using completely natural food items that are every day food items for fish. The bait is black in colour which is natural for a food item found on the bed of a river or lake. The bait is made up from a combination of fish, meat and milk proteins so it should not 'blow'. The natural ingredients included in the mix are

water shrimps
krill
daphnia
worm
bloodworm
dried insects/beetles
green lipped mussel
Stimanol

This is a highly nutritious bait concept that I am sure has an awful lot of mileage in it and I am offering this in boilie & dumbells, paste, pellet and groundbait form. For those interested in trialling it I have field tester rates for all of these products, so call or email me and I shall sort it. Due to the ingredients used the final cost of the bait will be a little higher than our other baits but I am convinced that the bait will prove itself worthy.

Been fieldtesting the new Naturally Black over the past month very pleased with the results so far.
Tested it on a new section of the Trent and certainly out fished the standard pellet.
A few more tweaks to ingredients under way and more fieldtesting to be done, but am confident this will be a winner.
will let you know results in due course (exciting times) Very Happy

We need more field testers to trial this bait out on as many rivers as possible to guage the effectiveness of this new concept. I am sure that there is a lot of mileage in this new formula and with feed back we can tweak this bait for optimum performance. For those interested in trialling this bait, please email me at hookbaits@yahoo.co.uk and I shall let you know the field tester rates etc.

Well I have decided that I am going to use it for the chub study group autumn get-together on the Yorkshire Swale in a couple of weeks. I am sure there will be some interest when I introduce it!

Well the Naturally Black is starting to cause a little bit of a stir on a couple of rivers, best result so far is 7 barbel in 6 hours to one of our testers fishing on the Gt Ouse above Bedford with the best weighing in at 11lb 5oz. A few new members will be testing out on the Hampshire and Bristol Avon so looking forward to hearing from them soon Smile

Hi all
Just come back from a week on the Wye, the weather was great for the time of year and the fishing just as good.
Most were caught on the natural black which once again outscored the pellet my friends were using as well as catching the only two doubles of the trip!!!!!!!
Will be adventuring out on to the kennet in a couple of weeks to try the bait on the more secluded river!

tight lines.

A lot of time and effort has gone into the design of our new barbel bait 'Naturally Black'. This highly nutritious bait is crammed full of natural food items that barbel feed on in their natural habitat
New Concept Barbel Bait Natura11
The base mix is a proven combination of milk, meat, savoury and fish proteins to give the bait a rounded profile. Barbel have individual tastes when it comes to boilies and these vary river to river, be it savoury, milk protein, fish or meat. Because the bait profile incorporates all of these factors that barbel find appealing, attracting the barbel should pose less of a problem.

New Concept Barbel Bait Natura12
To compliment the natural ingredients used in the make up of our bait we have incorporated naturally occurring flavours and smells into the finished article. These include river shrimp, daphnia, bloodworm and crayfish meal. To finish the profile we include low levels of anchovy and lobster.

Well the Naturally Black goes from strength to strength with the capture today of a new river record barbel in the shape of this pristine 11lb 1oz specimen from Exeter to local rod Simon Cooper. Simon fished just a short half hour session and after baiting his hook with Naturally Black paste, caught the specimen a few minutes after casting out. The last couple of trips out to the Trent have produced some fine results for Marcus Blackwell with captures that included barbel of 9lb 10oz, 10lb 6oz & 11lb 3oz - quite outstanding! All his fish were taken using Naturally Black dumbells. Top Angling Very Happy

Kev Tolmie has been feeding the chub on his local Gt Ouse with Naturally Black over the past few weeks, and tonight he caught this fine chevin of 5lb 3oz before the line froze in the rod rings! Shocked

New Concept Barbel Bait Empty Another Concept

Post  baitboss Sun Dec 23, 2012 7:30 am

Well I have been working on another concept bait for a while now and to be honest, I do not know why I did not do it a long time ago. I have a vested interest in a worm breeding farm and as well as selling them as they are, I have decided to incorporate them into baits for barbel, chub and carp. Now I know a lot of you will think that worm boilies are nothing new, but I want to offer something different and unique. The boilie profile I have come up with has a worm content of 40%, unlike anything else on the market. Treated, liquidised worm is also used to bind the bait ingredients, replacing 70% of the egg normally need to do this. The base mix is a combination of meat meals, dried worm carcasses, liquid worm and a few other special ingredients that work with the amino profile of the bait. Trials will be carried out in the New Year so I will keep you posted cheers

sounds an interesting combo, how did the trials of the bait go or did the wonderful weather get in the way ?
Presume that will be accompanied by the usual pellet paste and matching groundbait ?

The Worm Krill is working well at the moment with tench and carp. It has already proved to be a good bait for barbel and chub with many good fish coming from the Ivel and Ouse over the Winter months. As with all the range, it is available in all forms...boilies, paste, ground bait, pellets etc

If this stuff stinks it could be a floodwater/winter bagger on the Trent.

looking forward to giving it a try ! Although in all fairness it seems a bit of a hard choice against some of the other bait offerings ? So many good choices so few days to fish, ha ha
What do you think is the best boilie size for big barbel ? If you look at most meat articles they seem to suggest bigger is better, do you think its the same for boilies ?
